Several years ago, we were presented with the challenge of reducing the cost of a client’s holiday season advertising. In fact, it wasn’t the client who challenged us; he actually bet us that we couldn’t … and suggested that we would be wasting our time even trying. Not being willing to pass up the “dare”, we put our buyers on the task, doubled our efforts, and were able to reduce the clients monthly expense by some 30% … which, parenthetically, also reduced our month’s commission fees by the same proportion. The client’s Senior VP of Marketing jokingly declared that he “had never seen an agency work so hard to make so much less!” We would go to enjoy a twelve-year working relationship with this client. It remains one of MPG’s proudest moments because it demonstrates our refreshingly unique approach to client service.
